Things that make you go hmmm....

I ran out of cat food which is pretty unusual. Normally I have a stash of extra kibble tucked away in the garage, but not this time. So I had to make a special trip to the grocery store for Jazzy food. On the bag of Purina Cat Chow Indoor Formula that I bought, it says "Ideal for Feeding EVERY DAY." Hmmm...don't most people feed their cats on a daily basis? Hmmmm...

There's nothing to fear but....

I stopped by the new library yesterday and picked up some books about India. It's funny how the the books I got in the juvenile section answer more of my questions than those I found in 'non-fiction'.

Bill asked me last night "What's your biggest fear about going to India?" Without skipping a beat, I said "illness." Today I'm heading to the Dr. for some shots and a pile of prescriptions for malaria pills and anything else I may need. Yikes.

Well, we've been doing something right

I took the girls to the local cheap Chinese Buffet for lunch yesterday. They hadn't been acting that great yesterday but the combined effect of my growling stomach, the proximity of the 'East Garden', the prospect of an instant lunch, and both of them eating for free let me overlook their behavior and take them out to lunch anyway. I have to admit, I was so impressed and happy with the things they ate. I know they both love Lo Mein, but both girls also tried the red curry chicken, which Cory did like, although she sucked down a bunch of water afterward, and several other surprising things. To run down their meals: Lo Mein, Red curry chicken, green beans, pork dumplings (Cory was a huge fan, even though she peeled off the dumpling, she devoured the meat), spicy clams (yay Cory!) and mushrooms. Ice cream choices were: Chocolate for Cory (that's my girl!), and Green Tea & Red Bean for Sammy. Very impressive. All of this for $10 including tip. Almost priceless ;)

Note to self....

Note to self: Next time one of the girls starts banging 2 spice jars together, take them away...they are glass. Sorry Sammy.

Where to?

This, my very first blog entry, was inspired by crazy news we received today. It looks as though the Sullivan clan will be becoming expats again. This time in India. Hyderabad to be more precise. Bill and I are planning a trip over there to check things out and make sure we'll be comfortable enough, physically & mentally, to bring the girls over as well and spend anywhere from 6-24 months.
